Safe and durable ORIMA® LE6 snow barrier with oval tubes for straight rib metal roofing and asphalt shingles.. Because of the oval shape of the snow barrier tube, the tube is stronger and can withstand a higher snow load.

ORIMA® LE6 — Corrugated Metal & Straight Rib Panels

LE6 attaches directly to the metal profile with 10 self-tapping screws — no wood substrate or deck required. How to install ORIMA® LE6 Tubular Snow Guard on Profiled sheet and Felt Roofs?

Maximum distance between brackets is 1.2 m (4’). It is recommended to install snow guards on the wall line or above this line.

The installation site of the snow guards is directly above the wall or higher. If installed closer to the eaves, it must be ensured that the structures can carry the weight of the snow.

Fasten the roof fasteners with min. 7x30 screws 10 pcs per fasteners and max. 1,200 fastener spacing. Use at least three fasteners. In tightening screws, be mindful not to let the screw rotate loosely. Feedthroughs must be sealed with sealing strip.

PROFILED SHEET ROOF: The roof fastener is fastened only to the sheet, the location of the batten wood is not significant. If an initial hole is made for the screws, its maximum size is Ø 3.3 mm. In a grooved profiled sheet, do not install the fastener over the groove.
Fit the snow guard pipes in place. Lock the ends and extension bits of the pipes against sliding with M8x35 mm screw and nut. Maximum overhang of the snow guard from the outermost fastener 150 mm.

Snow guards must be installed along the entire length of the roof:

Even distribution of snow load over the roof
Protection against snow falling along the entire length of the roof

The maximum distance between the brackets of snow guards is 1.2 m.
Snow guards withstand a snow load of 500 kg/m (5 kN/m), each bracket can withstand a load of 300 kg (based on static tests according to Swedish standard SS 831367).

Snow retention system is installed above the load-bearing wall or higher. When installing snow retention close to the eaves, it is important to make sure that the structure can withstand the possible load.

Excessive snow load can lead to serious damage to the roof structure and injury!

WE DO NOT RECOMMEND USING SHORT LINES OF SNOW GUARDS

With this kind of installation, brackets load can exceed the calculated indicators by more than 4 times (up to 2000 kg).

According to the estimates in the table, long slopes may require installation of several rows of snow guards.

Calculation example:

The roof slope is 1:1,5 (~33°)

Installation of one row of snow guards, if the distance from the snow guard to the ridge does not exceed 6.8 m

If the roof slope is longer, a second row of snow guards is installed at the level of half the slope length, but not more than 6.8 m between the lines of snow retention system.

Distance to snow retention system at the maximum 1.2m distance between brackets

Snow guards are manufactured according to SS 831335: 2014 and are tested with a snow load of 5 kN/m

If the actual snow load on the roof exceeds the calculated values, you should additionally remove the excessive snow.
