Description

Safe and durable ORIMA® LE8 snow barrier with oval tubes for Natural clay ceramic roof tile and slate roofs. Because of the oval shape of the snow barrier tube, the tube is stronger and can withstand a higher snow load.

ORIMA® LE8 — Compatible Roof Systems

LE8 brackets are installed during roofing — fastened to the deck and overlapped by the next tile course. Compatible with: DaVinci Roofscapes, Brava Roof Tile, EcoStar (Majestic Slate), CertainTeed Symphony, Inspire Roofing, Westlake Royal (Newpoint), Euroshield, Enviroshake / Enviroslate, F Wave (REVIA), IKO metal shingles, Owens Corning architectural shingles, and other synthetic slate, composite, and metal shingle profiles. Additional options

With an additional snow fence, you do not need to worry about snow avalanching on playgrounds, parking spaces or entrances near the building. With such additional snow stop, you also protect skylights, vent exhausts and chimneys as well as other structures that require special roof protection from precipitations.

This extra snow hold slightly hovers over the roof surface and prevents snow and ice from sliding under the pipe snow guard.

How to install ORIMA® LE8 Tubular Snow Guard on Tile Roofs?

Maximum distance between brackets is 1.2 m (4’). It is recommended to install snow guards on the wall line or above this line.

• Auxiliary batten 50x100 must be fastened to the frame with two min. 8x140 coach srcews per roof truss or with two min. 6x120 universal screws per roof truss.
• Fasten the fasteners to the auxiliary batten 50x100 with two 7x50 srcews (7).

• Maximum spacing of the fasteners is 1.2 m
• Pipe overhang of the fastener max. 15 cm.

• The recommended installation site of the snow guards is directly above the wall or higher. If installed closer to the eaves, it mustbe ensured that the structures can carry the weight of the snow.

Snow guards must be installed along the entire length of the roof:

Even distribution of snow load over the roof
Protection against snow falling along the entire length of the roof

The maximum distance between the brackets of snow guards is 1.2 m.
Snow guards withstand a snow load of 500 kg/m (5 kN/m), each bracket can withstand a load of 300 kg (based on static tests according to Swedish standard SS 831367).

Snow retention system is installed above the load-bearing wall or higher. When installing snow retention close to the eaves, it is important to make sure that the structure can withstand the possible load.

Excessive snow load can lead to serious damage to the roof structure and injury!

WE DO NOT RECOMMEND USING SHORT LINES OF SNOW GUARDS

With this kind of installation, brackets load can exceed the calculated indicators by more than 4 times (up to 2000 kg).

According to the estimates in the table, long slopes may require installation of several rows of snow guards.

Calculation example:

The roof slope is 1:1,5 (~33°)

Installation of one row of snow guards, if the distance from the snow guard to the ridge does not exceed 6.8 m

If the roof slope is longer, a second row of snow guards is installed at the level of half the slope length, but not more than 6.8 m between the lines of snow retention system.

Snow guards are manufactured according to SS 831335: 2014 and are tested with a snow load of 5 kN/m

If the actual snow load on the roof exceeds the calculated values, you should additionally remove the excessive snow.
